Saint
Barthélemy is a nine square mile island of
rocky and hilly terrain in the northeast Caribbean approximately
10 minutes by air from St. Martin. Each turn in the
road brings a beautiful new vista as there is no escape
from the sea's intimate presence in our lives. We are
surrounded by twenty three beaches, some rated as the
best in the world. Water sports abound. Scuba, snorkeling,
windsurfing, board surfing, deep sea and surface fishing,
and yachting are easily arranged. Group sails are available
to our surrounding little islands and beaches.
Saint
Barthélemy's popularity in the world of yachting
is due in part to its geographical location: it lies
about midway between Antigua and Virgin Gorda, two major
sailing centers. While still uncrowded, the island could
take, if it had to, 500 yachts, of course, mostly at
anchor. Gustavia's harbor, 13 to 16 feet deep, has mooring
and docking facilities for about 40 yachts. There are
also fine anchorages at nearby Public, Corossol and
Colombier.
Colorful events on
the yachting calendar annually are the St. Barth Regatta,
celebrated just before Lent, the Saint Barth's Cup,
held in April and sponsored by the Saint Barth Yacht
Club, the three-day International Regatta in May, with
races for gaffers, cruising, racing, etc. and the St
Barth open fishing tournament held on Bastille Day weekend
in July.
As
you arrive in the Port of Gustavia, and anchor at the
dock or out in the turquoise waters of our harbor, you
will feel the stress of everyday life drop away as you
relax into our peaceful lifestyle on our spectacular
little island.
A recipe for an unforgettable
day on Saint Barth starts
with day on the WAYAYAI, our fully outfitted catamaran
relaxing, listening to the sounds of the sea taking
advantage of all we have to offer you. Our experienced
captain and crew have sailed our waters and sail to
whisk you off to deserted coves and sandy bays for snorkeling,
private picnics or just pure sun worshipping in the
calm serene waters of Saint Barthélemy.
Saint Barth has no
equal. The weather is fantastic and there are always
trade winds. The food is great, the people warm and
friendly. Saint Barth is a piece of paradise on earth.
